Webinar - Equivocal Death Investigations
March 28, 2019 - https://youtu.be/jJVqQrrAHlg
Interested in taking the Equivocal Death Investigations distance learning course we developed for PI Education? Listen to the webinar for an exclusive discount code!
It was very informative for listeners and their questions. Unfortunately, an hour - even a day - doesn't cover all the most important facets of death investigation, and our passionate and important role in this expertise. What did we talk about? From our background to our passion, and our experiences to viewer questions, we covered a lot in one hour. This commentary shares some, but to get the full experience please watch the webinar. We have also added some important information to supplement the webinar - one hour was too short for such a passionate topic of great interest to many.

Sean Drenth - Suicide or Homicide?

Sean Drenth was police officer with Phoenix AZ police department. He was found with a single fatal shotgun wound under his chin. It was ruled a suicide after a long wait for the family, and an investigation that did not answer many questions - and added more.

Colorado's 2nd Licensed Private Investigator Says Licensing "Extends Professionalism"

The Denver Private Investigator Blog recently posed a few questions to Karen Beers, the second private investigator to apply for and receive a license under the state of Colorado’s new voluntary licensure program. Beers is with Associates in Forensic Investigations, LLC. Her husband Dean was chairman of the Professional Private Investigators Association of Colorado, which promoted the legislation creating the program.

Suspicious Suicides

PI's Declassified
October 07, 2010
Hosted by Francie Koehler, CPI, CCDI
Guests Dean A. Beers, CLI, CCDI and Don C. Johnson, CLI
There are few life events more painful and far-reaching than a suicide. A suicide not only brings suffering to loved ones, it brings shame and guilt to those with the closest contact to the victim. But . . . what if the suicide isn’t a suicide? Can this same sad event be interpreted in another way? Can it be an accident? Can it be a homicide? Who decides? What factors are considered? What are the pros and cons of either determination? Then there are the myths surrounding suicide that leave grieving family and friends with questions. These questions and more will be included in the discussion with seasoned private investigators Dean Beers and Don Johnson, both of whom have been involved in conducting investigations.

LaPorte Investigative Team Takes Pride in Helping Victims

Fort Collins Coloradoan
October 13, 2011
The local newspaper did this business profile on us - published Monday 10/10/2011. Although we did not choose the title, interestingly they chose to describe us as a 'team', our first emphasis, and 'pride', our second emphasis. PRIDE is an acronym we use for Professional Reliable Investigators Defining Excellence.
