Thank You for making the Family Intake Retainer Deposit.
By making this payment, you acknowledge the following:
1. You are requesting and agreeing to retain our agency for a Family Questioned Death expert consultation, your request is not for current or anticipated litigation, and you are not and will not be represented by an attorney - this is for personal use only.
2. The amount of $150 is non-refundable;
3. The amount of $150 will be applied to the invoice for the Family Questioned Death expert consultation you are requesting of our agency;
4. The amount of $150 is for the drafting of all documents, agreements, and releases for you to execute and return to begin;
5. A client relationship is not created and services cannot begin until we have received all payments and executed documents; and
6. No payment is indicative of any promise or guarantee of findings and opinion.
Q - Why are we charging this non-refundable Family Intake Retainer Deposit for the processing of the documents, agreements, and releases?
A - Once we have provided an initial phone consultation and agreed to accept your case, and you have agreed to retain our agency, there are a series of important legal documents for us to prepare and for you to execute and return with your payment. This is NOT an additional fee - this non-refundable $150 is a deposit applied to your invoice.
We have provided families a special service we are passionate for, and do so at about 1/3 our expert consultation fees for attorney represented litigation. This is a courtesy, as we feel it is important to provide answers to families in the loss of their loved one. The initial phone consultation is at no charge. Prior to 10/01/2021 we did not charge this $150 Family Intake Retainer Deposit and would immediately prepare and send the necessary documents, agreements, and releases. Understandably, there can be second thoughts and considerations by families who decide not to proceed, and we respect their decision. However, the process takes about an hour, plus the initial consultation; and, when this
time is expended without an agreement or compensation, it takes away from our ability to help other families and attorneys.
