Special Announcement - NCISS Elections - Dean Beers President 2016-2017
Associates in Forensic Investigations, a licensed Rocky Mountain West legal investigation and expert consultation agency, is pleased to inform you The National Council of Investigation & Security Services (www.NCISS.org) held its 40th Annual Conference and Hit the Hill event the week of April 05th in Baltimore MD and Washington DC. Annual elections were held, and we are pleased and honored to announce that Dean Beers was elected President for the 2016-2017 term.
Dean most recently served as 1st Vice President, and previously as both 2nd and 3rd Vice Presidents, as well as Secretary, Regional Director and Membership committee during his membership with NCISS.
“I am deeply honored and humbled to be elected President of the National Council of Investigation & Security Services for 2016-2017. NCISS is in great shape and I look forward to working with the Board and Membership to continue its proud history of advocating for the investigative and security professions. I hold several positions in state, national and international associations. It is not something we ask to do or insert ourselves into. Instead, it is because we are asked to and are honored to. Being involved is one of the most important things we do - as citizens and professionals. It is the mission of NCISS - as President Emeritus Ed McClain reminds us – ‘A cornerstone of American jurisprudence is a court system with documented records open to inspection by every citizen. NCISS is dedicated to keeping it that way. NCISS opposes record closure’ that makes this the most important association and position for me and our profession.”
NCISS Wunder Award
In addition to his election as NCISS President, Dean was also the recipient of the The Wunder Award (2nd highest NCISS honor). He has previously been the first recipient of the 3rd highest honor, The Vinson Award.
About The National Council of Investigation and Security Services, Inc. (NCISS)
The National Council of Investigation and Security Services, Inc., is a cooperative effort of those companies and associations responsible for providing private security and investigation services to the legal profession, business community, government and the public. Each day we find an increasing number of problems confronting the orderly growth of our profession. These problems include, among others: overly restrictive legislation regarding training and standards, proliferation of legislation requiring local licensing, public misunderstanding and misinformation on the role and contribution of private investigators and security services, and an uninformed media. It is the role of NCISS to meet and solve these problems while seeking to uncover and recommend action on any hidden potential problems which may have an effect on our profession.
